This collection is the result of collaborative effort to record the oral histories of ten Latino residents of the San Joaquin Valley, produced by the Fresno State Library and StoryCorps, a national nonprofit organization founded by Dave Isay in 2003. The organization allows people to participate in recorded interview sessions. For the project, the ten interviewees were chosen through a public campaign, with the interviews being conducted by friends and family members of the interviewees, with StoryCorps providing the technical expertise and production and the Fresno State Library offering the space to conduct the interviews.
