LUIS SALINAS
First, I don't think it's aiminishing. I think it's going into a
submerged state·. There are so many new Chicanos coming and
they bring new ideas.
·
MANUEL K. VALDEZ
The Chicano Movement has,
in my opinion, not diminished
one iota. The system has been
successful in threatening the
leaders with anything from expelling· them from ·school to inc, arceration. This has made them
quiet but not inactive. This also
does not mean that Chicanos are ·
not working in the movement,
and are not ready again to take
action against this school or any
institution that threatens our people,
You can just look around and
find more Chicano working with
the movement. It is probably true
that we have become entwined in
the .$ystem, working in it. But
RICARDO LECUGO RODRIGUEZ
The Chicano movement can be
analyzed from different points of
view, if one is a newcomer into
the movement one has more energy to dedicate more of one'' s time
into the activities that will better
our people,
For some reason, after a period of years in the movement, people be:;ln to move away from the
main scene of the movement.
People learn they do not 1i ve in
a beautiful America.
