He's what some people still
consider a rarity, a male telephone operator, although such individuals are becoming increasingly common at Pacific Telephone
in Fresno and have been in European telephone companies for
years.
"Sure, every once in a while
you notice some surprise or hesitation when you answer a call,"
Sanders says, " but not that much .
I've been an operator off and on
for about three years, so I' m used
to it. "
' 'I've got about a year of college behind me but I took some

Make It Yourself and Follow Through
(It's Up to You)

By Hank Gaston
Every man should have a goal in mind

Don't wait for it to come to you
Cause it will never come
Get your education
It will make jobs easier to find
Talk about gettin' ahead
Doin' this and doin' that
But you might as well be dead-cause
Your talents are being wasted
You write and speak words of wisdom
to friends and people you aren't acquainted with
and don't act accordingly
When will your actions speak louder than your words
All of the: ifs, mights, maybes, couldbes, shouldbes,
I don't knows and one of these days,
never made it.
Don't let your so-called friends try and make your decisions
of what to do

FRESNO JUNIOR MISS PAGEANT had five Black beauties that competed
for scholarships offered by the Fresno Jaycees . Shown above are from

Just remember it's your decision; so
Make it yourself and follow through
Don't let anything stop you
Make it yourself and follow through
Black or white, yellow or brown, it's up to you
There's a big world out there, it's up to you

Make It Yourself and Follow Through
(It's Up to You)

By Hank Gaston
Every man should have a goal in mind

Don't wait for it to come to you
Cause it will never come
Get your education
It will make jobs easier to find
Talk about gettin' ahead
Doin' this and doin' that
But you might as well be dead-cause
Your talents are being wasted
You write and speak words of wisdom
to friends and people you aren't acquainted with
and don't act accordingly
When will your actions speak louder than your words
All of the: ifs, mights, maybes, couldbes, shouldbes,
I don't knows and one of these days,
never made it.
Don't let your so-called friends try and make your decisions
of what to do

FRESNO JUNIOR MISS PAGEANT had five Black beauties that competed

Just remember it's your decision; so

Don't let anything stop you
Make it yourself and follow through
Black or white, yellow or brown, it's up to you
There's a big world out there, it's up to you
