Central California's Best
Dressed Women and Men
This month we have changed our format,
somewhat, to feature exclusively twenty-five of
Central California's Best Dressed Black Women
and Men.
The fashionable ladies and men are pidured
in their favorite attire in various locations in
Central California. Those featured were selected
from names submitted to our Selection Committee
by individuals and organizations. Selection was
based on how a person's dress fits his personality,
occupation, and life style.
The GRAPEVINE Selection Committee is composed
of men and women from towns in Central
California.

Mrs. Fritzalbert (Dorothy) Marius is the wife of Dr. F. M. Marius, a Fresno
surgeon. She is a senior at Fresno State University and holds membersh ip
in Fellowship Baptist Church. Mrs. Marius is the state secretary to t he
Doctor Daniel Hale Williams Medical Forum.

Mrs. Percy (Fredella) Carr of Fresno is an English teacher at Irwin Junior
High School. She is the Secretary of the Black Educators Association of
Fresno. Mrs. Carr is formerly from Tulare, California. Her husband is the
basketball coach at Fresno 's Edison High School.

Mrs. Thurber (La Fay) Jay of Fresno is an Administrative Assi_stant to a
California Senator. She has been active in many civic and social organizations.
Her husband is a well known musician.

Mrs. Carl (Candi) Jones of Bakersfield California is a secretary at Kern
Schools Federal Credit Union. She is also a licensed beautician. Her hobbies
are sewing and modeling.

station. Davis graduated from Washington State University in
l970 and then moved to Fresno.
