THANKS

This issue of the GRAPEVINE MAGAZINE is the start of our fourth year
of publication, which gives the staff an opportune time to express our
thanks to the many people who have advertised their businesses and
products through our medium.

This issue also gives us a chance to express our thanks to the many
readers throughout California and other parts of the United States who
have subscribed and bought our magazine over the years.

The staff wants to express our thanks and appreciation also to the
people in the various local news media who have shared their pictures
and articles with us over the years.

Special thanks must also go to our many friends who have over the
years donated hours of their precious time so unselfishly to assist us in
making this magazine a success.

IT HAPPENED ON BUNKER HILL

Approximately five hundred people gathered in the garden of the
hofne of Dr. and Mrs. Willie Brown to help the Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority pull off their annual Fashionette Extravaganza and judging from
the reaction of the guests it was truly an Extravaganza.

Among the out of town celebrities in attendance were Debbie Foxx,
daughter of television personality Redd Foxx, Wilma Rodoulph, Olympic
Gold Medalist, and Belva Davis, Bay area TV personality.

There was a very impressive presentation of the ten best dressed men
and women in the Valley, as presented by the Grapevin Magazin. Gottschalks
furnished the clothes for a very beautiful—around the pool—
fashion show. Poor pig, food-ah-plenty was prepared under the watchful
eye of Mr. L. Williams. Marvin Howard, Rita Walker, Belva Davis,
and Woody Miller were the Masters of Ceremonies.
