The auto repair center that was operated by a French man by the name of Albert Four. Albert had fought in WW2 against the Germans as a bazooka loader. He later then joined the French Foreign Legion and was taken prisoner at the fall of Dien Bien Phu. Afterwards, he left the Legion and married a Vietnamese woman, lived in Vietnam, and then later move to the Plain of Jars in Xieng Khouang, Laos. He later joined the USAID mission in Vientiane and became the chief mechanic in Samthong. There he worked under the late Edgar M. "Pop" Buell. After the war in 1979, as written in Steven Schofield's book, "Secret War in Laos: Green Berets, CIA, and the Hmong", Schofield last saw Four living in New Caledonia.
